Is Jesus the God

We’ve no other source where we can draw a concrete clear answer to this question than the Bible. This is our book of authority as Christians and we have to study, believe and obey what it says. If anyone can show me a verse saying Jesus is not God I will recant my faith.

No other person who came from heaven to testify who Jesus is but himself the only one sent by God the Father.

No one in this world who have been foretold by the prophets of ancient times and fulfilled the prophecies than Jesus Christ.

Let’s see what the Bible say about Jesus Christ

John 1:1-14

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made through him; and without him was not anything made that hath been made.
Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:5 And the light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness apprehended it not.
Joh 1:6 There came a man, sent from God, whose name was John.
Joh 1:7 The same came for witness, that he might bear witness of the light, that all might believe through him.
Joh 1:8 He was not the light, but came that he might bear witness of the light.
Joh 1:9 There was the true light, even the light which lighteth every man, coming into the world.
Joh 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world knew him not.
Joh 1:11 He came unto his own, and they that were his own received him not.
Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Joh 1:13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Joh 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.

Take note of the WORD

The WORD was in the beginning (v1), The same was in the beginning with God. (v2)

The WORD was with GOD

The WORD was GOD

All things were made through the (WORD) him

In him was life, and the life was light of men

The WORD became flesh and dwelt amongst us

  • For to us, a child is born, to us, a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)

There are more verses that could prove the deity of Jesus Christ but it’s useless to mention much if anyone is not open-minded.

Bear in mind, we are Christian and whoever believes in the Bible believes in Jesus Christ, and anyone who alters the Bible with other material to disown Jesus Christ’s deity is considered a cult. We will be discussing cults in the next article. Hope to see you again.

  1. Jesus is god and it’s covered in many holy books in different depictions but still, there are plenty of people who want to tip scales to their own favours to their own benefits. I’m surrounded by good god-fearing friends but of course, there are still those that manipulate the words of God to their own benefit and that’s just wrong. Loving your article, looking forward to your next one and I do hope you can touch many souls to bring them to the right path 🙂

    • I’m happy, Riaz that you are a believer of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. It’s true that many people understand the Holy Scriptures in a different way. Those who pervert the Holy Scriptures and do not accept Jesus Christ as God are not Christians rather they are cults.

To call yourself a Christian you should believe in the Holy Scriptures and believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, a true God because a sinner human cannot save his fellow sinner human.

  2. Jesus Christ is indeed God, the son, and he came to earth to teach and to save us from our sins.  I am so grateful for all he did for us, and I stand in awe of it, actually.  It’s a little disconcerting to be so loved, and I hope my love back is sufficient.  I work every day to please God, and I try to follow the commandments and teachings of Jesus in my life.  We are all human, after all, and flawed, but we can try, right?  Thank you for a beautiful website.  I really enjoyed looking around it.

    • Thanks, Babsie, if anyone can prove through the Holy Scriptures that Jesus Christ is not God why should we waste our time.

It’s such a wonderful revelation of God’s loving humanity and all his creation that after we have run away from him and are not worthy of his holiness and love, he still has the initiative to offer salvation for us. This makes us feel important and make amendments to our imperfections through faith in God.

  3. Hi, I’m a Christian as well. You might mention that there were over 500 eye-witnesses to His resurrection. Also, there are historical accounts which attest to the events in the Bible. Then there is archeology which supports that.
Finally, there is the issue of faith. It has occurred to me that readers may consult all the verses you mentioned above but still not believe. That’s where faith comes in or lack of it.

    • Yes, Carole. Besides the scientific findings, we have sufficient proofs from the Bible as our Book of authority and accepted the special revelation of God and his purpose for his whole creation. God as the creator, lived with his creation as a true person but not negating his being a true God.

We do not need anything else if we only believe the Holy Scriptures as the word of God, facts, and history.
